My favorite pair of PJ pants from Anthropologie ripped:( so I decided to make a cute nighty for my daughter. At least I can still enjoy the material somehow!!
I have just started blogging on Tumblr so I am reposting some of my old blogs from another site. Just testing it all out:) Now I can start with the new stuff!!
I have been wanting to get a pottery barn kitchen for my daughter but they are a small fortune, so I decided to do research on other play kitchens. I looked up DIY play kitchens and found so many fun ideas that I was inspired to create my own personal take on the kitchen I wanted. It was a lot of fun to take bits and pieces of ideas from other people and design my own adorable play kitchen. And besides there are no kitchens out there for girls that aren’t pink. I don’t do pink:)!
Redoing my daughters room because we are getting ready for her baby brother to arrive. I thought it would be fun to make it more girlie and fun so she would be excited. I was inspired to paint, so I repainted the room, painted a picture for her room and painted a tree on her wall:) This nesting thing is really getting to me!!
I added artificial peonies to the tree for a three dimensional view. Just nailed them into the wall. The rest of it is paint. I am planning on using it as a height measurement tree. I will mark her height and paint a little branch/leaf to label it.
My daughters 3rd birthday is coming up so I thought she would love to play with my childhood barbie size dollhouse. Well I got it back and this is what it looked like when I started. Puffy paint all over the walls!! I stripped it all down and started to have some fun! Some of the furniture I had saved from my childhood, some I bought either at the store or yard sales and a few items I made myself. I wanted all the furniture to be wood or metal (tub) so I’ve been on a mission. Kitchen, baby’s room and living furniture are by Playwonder and the rest is a mixture. I made the bed myself out of wood from Michaels. I used wood linoleum (.88 cents a square) and cut it into strips for the bedroom and living room. I used scrapbook paper for the wallpaper and bathroom floor. I painted a lot of furniture and the bedroom walls. The kitchen floor is vinyl.
